John Mayer Signature Edition Martin OM-28-JM
This is #154 of the Limited Edition 404 guitars
Martin OM-28-JM John Mayer Signature Series OM Acoustic Electric, Near Mint Condition, Appears Unplayed.
This has been John Mayer's go to acoustic for years and he personally owns three of them.
Here is the listing for it from 2004 from a dealer: http://22.214.171.124/search?q=cache...&ct=clnk&gl=ph
Chances are, if you're looking at this listing and seriously interested you know all about the specs and the history of this guitar already but I am providing them at the bottom of this listing anyway.
I purchased this beautiful guitar new from the dealer on February of 2004 and have been its sole owner and player. I have only used this guitar to play and record at home. This guitar has never been gigged with and has been kept in its case when not in use and always in the temperature controlled non-smoking environment of my home.
The neck, wood, frets, electronics and hardware are in perfect condition with no wear whatsoever.
I have been very particular about its care.
This guitar is as mint of a condition as the day I bought it with three exceptions:
a) I had a strap button professionally installed in the neck by a Martin authorized repair shop as seen in picture 7; b) There is a speck the size of a single grain of salt in the finish on the top left corner as not even seen in picture 11, it is only visible if you are looking for it and in the right light ; c) The headstock has a couple of extremely light hairline scratch marks on from changing strings, also only visible in the right light (sometimes not even-you'd also have to be looking). Actually, you'd never notice these, but I'd feel wrong if I didn't mention it.
This guitar would be in 100% Factory Mint condition if it were not for these 3 details.
The original heavy duty Martin Geib-style case is in also in near perfect condition with no scuffs or scratches whatsoever. The green velvet inside is plush and cradles the guitar perfectly since it was customized for this guitar. The green interior also has a particular scent that owners of this guitar know all too well and is a joy to smell every time you open the case, it only suffers from a discoloration as seen in picture 10.
The difference between this OM-28-JM and the current OMJM is the selection of premium tonewoods, attention to detail and collectible factor given to the limited edition. Also, the limited edition has a Dovetail neck joint where as the OMJM has a Tenon Neck Joint.
As is with all high end Martin solid rosewood guitars, the tones are rich and clear, and this particular series has beautiful appointments and detail. The gorgeous abalone inlays and John Mayer signature add so much class to this performing guitar. The feel and playability is excellent and its projection is outstanding. This is the most solid and amazing acoustic guitar I have ever had the pleasure to play and of course own. I hate to let it go and see it posted for sale.
I have done my best to baby and care for this guitar in every interaction with it. This is the best condition you could hope to find these few guitars.
Guitar, case and original case candy (key, paperwork, etc.) will all be included.
